Carrier oils are derived from seeds, nuts, beans, vegetables, and fruit and, as their name implies their use as a carrier to which a essential oils solid fats, thickeners, watery liquids or herbs and spices are added when making herbal infused oils, lotions, salves, balms, elixirs and creams. Carrier oils can be used alone or in combination with other carrier oils when creating hair and skin conditioners. Use carrier oils that have been organically grown, naturally extracted, and minimally processed. These oil should be refrigerated and use within a year.

Some of my favorite carrier oils:

  • Coconut Oil
  • Jojoba Oil
  • Neem Oil
  • Castor Oil
  • Olive Oil
  • Hemp Oil
  • Sweet Almond Oil
  • Avocado oil
